Questions & Answers
- How long have you been photographing weddings?
6 years and I have photographed over 100 weddings! I love it so much and people tell me it shows in my work. When you choose me, you are choosing someone who actually cares about your wedding and that you have the best day ever!
- Can I just get a disk of all my photos?
No- why would you want that? Think about it. You have spent (insert approx cost of your wedding here) on your perfect wedding, bough a perfect dress, flowers, had an amazing meal ….....only then to get a plastic disk where your precious memories will no doubt stay..... no matter how good your intentions to do it yourself...
I do not just give you a disk because you deserve better and as a real professional why would I give you something as cheap and nasty and ordinary as a disk??
- What is your style?
Romantic, spontaneous, documentary, creative, vintage inspired, - I write with light, tell your story with light. This is the art of photography.
- My partner feels uncomfortable getting their photo taken, can you help?
Absolutely I can! You are not alone, I come across this all the time where usually the groom is nervous or not even wanting his photo to be taken. I recommend an engagement shoot so we can spend some time just the tow of you and me- getting to know each other a little bit in a relaxed setting. These shoots are a really lovely thing to do together. With all the stress and business of planning a wedding, it is nice to take some time to be together intentionally focused on each other.
If this doesn’t suit you, then rest assured that CGP is totally awesome and will make your guy feel relaxed= he will even have fun.
- But I'm so un-photogenic!
There is no such thing as an un-photogenic person when being photographed by CGP. You feel un photogenic because you haven’t been photographed in a way that makes you feel relaxed and at ease. When you are relaxed you are yourself and there is nothing more beautiful than a person who is natural.
- How do we decide on the photo locations for after the ceremony?
I can be involved here if it helps. If you have a clear theme for your wedding it is really nice to incorporate this into your locations. If you are really stuck for ideas I can offer lots of fabulous suggestions and take you places that you may never have considered. It is great to talk about all your ideas so I get a feeling for who you are and what suits you both. Then your photographs reflect your personalities and your relationship.
- Are you a real professional, or a pretend professional?
I am a true, real, professional. You know this because I am a qualified member of the NZIPP, I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in photography, I only use professional cameras, lenses, printers, photographic papers and work with Queensberry Designer Albums, plus I have won awards.
- What do you charge?
CGP has an awesome and unique package system that allows you to build your own package! cool eh! This way you get complete flexibility while still getting the value of a package. It all depends on what you value, what you would like to remember your fantastic day by. The CGP system works best when used together so you can talk about what you want- it’s interactive and you can come up with so many different combinations.
- Is there an extra cost for travel & accommodation?
Not if you are getting married in Christchurch or Dunedin! I do charge mileage of 90cents per kilometre and an accommodation fee of $250 if required to stay overnight in New Zealand. Overseas travel charges are unique to the wedding location- all costs of travel by CGP must be covered by the wedding couple.
- What are your packages?
I have a very unique and awesome system where you build your own package!! Cool eh. All you need to do to get access to this is to fill out the contact page and the questionaire and it will be emailed to you.
OR come and visit me in my studio and we can go over it together. I am here to help if you have further questions about the package system
- How long will I have to wait before I can see my photographs?
Not long at all! I aim to have a blog of your wedding highlights up and on display for you no more than 2 weeks after your wedding. The blog will tell your wedding day story and showcase some of my favourite images from your day. Then approx 4 weeks after your wedding your online gallery will be available for you to see all your photos. This is where you can choose your enlargements and images for your album.
- What are your inspirations?
Real emotion, black and white film, vintage style
- What is the most important thing to get right on my wedding day?
That you are marrying the person you want to spend the rest of your life with!
That you have fun, have planned a day that is all about celebrating your love and the journey you have both been on to get to this point. That you are surrounded by people you love and who love you.......
